National Chocolate Cake Day!

I just found out it was National Chocolate Cake Day!  How could I not have known that!

In honour of this day (*big smile*) I am showcasing some of my fave chocolate creations!

I think I may be making a trip the refrigerator now for a midnight snack.....

Have a great weekend everyone!

Look at the detail on this one!

This one is different!

All I need to say is YUM!

Love this next one!  Clean lines and just enough details.

This next one would be perfect for a vineyard style wedding!  Complete with a wooden crate!

Now just because it's "National Chocolate Cake Day", doesn't mean that cupcakes should be excluded!

Check out this recipe that will just satisfy your sweet tooth!

Unique Wedding Ceremony Options!

Your wedding is one of the most important and special days of your lives.  Why not make it a memory that stands out for everyone?  Totally about the both of you.

Your vows may not take a lot of time in the grand scheme of things but there can be a "personal" element that surrounds those few moments.  Some prefer the traditional ceremony "setup" - in a church.  Which is totally fine.  But if you are a couple who wants to do something a little different, then why not.

Here is some inspiration for the ambitious bride & groom to ponder!  Who knows - a "change of plans" may be on the table!

~ Enjoy! ~

Yellow + Grey Wedding Inspiration

A very popular colour palette in the wedding world lately has been Yellow and Grey, one that really didn't appeal to us at first.  But this palette is so chic, cheerful and yet completely sophisticated.....we are loving it more and more!!!

I have the pleasure of planning the wedding celebrations with Emma & Steven for this coming October and it's the first time that I've had this colour combination!  From what we have chosen so far... this is going to look beautiful!

Take a look at this style board and maybe you will be inspired too!

2012 Oscar Nominees List !

Yet another award show is on the horizon!  With much anticipation, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the nominations for this year’s Oscars.

The Artist.  Hugo.  The Descendants.  The Help.  Moneyball.  The Tree of Life.  War Horse.  Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.  Midnight in Paris. All nominated for Best Picture.  Tough category!

Oscars  Oscars  Oscars

Oscars    Oscars

Oscars  Oscars  Oscars

A number of other films are also sure to leave their mark at the 84th Academy Awards in various other categories.

Hopefuls are.....Best Actress nominees Michelle Williams (My Week with Marilyn) and Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). Best Adapted Screenplay for The Ides of March. Best Supporting Actor Christopher Plummer (The Beginners) and Kenneth Branagh (My Week with Marilyn).

Come February 26th millions will be tuned into the celebrations and intently watching the red carpet to see who is wearing what!  We know we will be!!!!

A surprise for us was the lack of a nomination for Leonardo Di Caprio (J.Edgar).  Expected to be a shoo-in for a statue, he was 'snubbed' from the Best Actor category along with other expected hopefuls Ryan Gosling (Ides of March) and Michael Fassbender (Shame).

What is going on!!???

Well we shall see how this glamour-filled evening plays out in a month's time!

We want to know how many of the films nominated for Best Picture have you seen?  What are your predictions for....Best Actor?  Best Actress?  Best Picture?

Let us know!!

Golden Globes 2012 - Red Carpet Style

The annual walk on the Red Carpet at the 2012 Golden Globes was viewed by millions on January 15th (we know we are a bit late with this post but it's been busy around here!)

We are just in love with all the designer fashion that paraded past the cameras!  Trends in accessories, silohuettes and hairstyles are always topics of conversation at the water cooler the following  morning!

As always with the high profile award shows...  elements of inspiration for wedding gowns are drawn from the red carpet... it's a natural progression!  Check out what all the celebrities were wearing and see if a certain designer sparks your interest!

Golden Globes

~ Emma in Lanvin ~

The beautiful Emma Stone graced the red carpet in an understated, unique gown by Lanvin.  She did a fabulous job in the movie "The Help".  A must-see!

Golden Globes

~ Natalie Portman in Lanvin ~

Gorgeous new mom Natalie Portman is wearing a fuschia strapless gown by Lanvin.  Accenting her look were Jimmy Choo heels and Harry Winston jewellry!  Wow!

~ Julie Bowen in Reem Acra ~

This simple nude-coloured sweetheart gown resonated old Hollywood glamour.  Elegant and classic... thumbs up from us!!!

~ Paula Patton in Monique L'huillier ~

This Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol star walked the red carpet in a bold number!  A strapless, form fitting canary gown wowed the masses!  It's bold but it worked for her!

~ Helen Mirren in Badgley Mischka ~

The "Queen" dazzled the cameras with her timeless taste.  We we drawn by the colour of the dress!  We love midnight blue!!!  Very elegant!

~ Kate Beckinsale in Roberto Cavalli ~

This Underworld: Awakening star chose a strapless, pale, floor-length gown with just enough sequin and chiffon to give it a romantic look.  Another thumbs up from us!

~ Berenice Bejo in Emilio Pucci ~

Again - we LOVE the colour of this gown!

Now for my favourite of then night!!!

~ Jessica Alba in Gucci ~

We absolutely LOVE this lavender strapless number Jessica Alba wore to the Globes.  So elegant and classy!

Hope you enjoyed some of the red carpet!
