Saying adieu to 2012….

Well another year is coming to a close and I’m sure everyone has already rumbled through their resolutions for the blank slate that is 2013.  I’d like to take a few moments to look back on 2012 and all the ‘goodness’ that came with it!  Where did the time go??  Honestly.  They do say ‘time flies when you’re having fun’….and that is what this year was about for me.

Family – my first love.....

In the midst of all the 2012 Weddings, Bridal Shows, Client meetings and time spent doing wedding research, I still kept in mind that family is one of the most important things in my life.  Having two daughters (almost 10 and now 12 years of age…) I am discovering they are at the age where their passions + interests are blossoming.  One of them being my Wedding Planning business!  They love all things wedding, just as I do – I LOVE THAT!  I can share what I am passionate about with my girls and that is a bonding opportunity that I just can’t pass up!  They love watching the various wedding shows on television with me (when I have the time to sit!) as well as helping me with my DIY projects.  Accommodating and shuffling schedules comes with the territory of being a mom.  I spend as much time with them as I can.  Very hard to do with the schedule that I keep!  Their happiness is the world to me.

My Business - my second love....

I am very happy to say that Style & Elegance is coming up on it’s 5th Anniversary in 2013!  Wowzers! Five-whole-years of doing what I love.  I am a very social person and thus throughout my travels in the last 5 years I have met some amazing people in the wedding industry.  Fabulous + wicked talented wedding professionals that, like me….love what they do.  Also along this fabulous journey I have met so many couples that have inspired me and made me realize that I am doing the right thing.  Here’s just a few of the wonderful clients that I have had the pleasure to work with.

Self Reflection

Throughout this year … I have come to realize a great deal about myself.  Actually... it has been a longer process than just this past year.  Here are just a few things that I have come to know:

  • I am only human & I am enough (that says a lot in itself)
  • With all the heartbreak and loss we see in this world today, making the world a better place for my daughters is so very important to (more than ever)
  • Being happy + healthy is just as important as everything else.  If I’m not either of those things…. I’m no good to anyone.
  • It’s not a bad thing to be young at heart.  My daughters have witnessed this first hand J  (ie: singing along like a kid to songs on the radio!)
  • Take time to recharge and reconnect ….and to not feel guilty about it!– VERY important.

So as 2012 comes to a close... I would like to thank all of my family and friends for supporting me in whatever endeavours I chose to pursue (some more difficult than others!).  You all have been fabulous and have helped me to get where I am as a person today.

Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!

Have a Happy New Year everyone!!!!!  That's a wrap!
