April Love

March was a whirlwind!  We didn't even get a chance to post our "March Loves"!  We are now catching up and are looking forward to Spring!  Although... you wouldn't think it was anywhere near close with what I'm seeing outside the windows today!

Anyhow - positive thoughts!  Spring will be here soon enough :)

April Love.jpg

SCARVES & GLOVES – I’m proud to say these two things…. are my weakness!!!  (shhh…. they also take up quite a bit of closet space!)  If you were to take a look at my lovely collection, you would be inclined to ask… have you actually worn every single one????  My answer – close to it!!!  They make me feel good … so why not!

APPLE CRUMBLE PIE – Ever since I can remember, apple pie has been my comfort food of choice.  My “go-to”, my “oh my goodness, this is so good with a scoop of ice cream” sweet tooth craving.  What is your go-to, feel-good dessert creation?

DISNEY MOVIES – As soon as I had our first daughter, I knew that my future would be filled with endless Disney movies… and I couldn’t be happierJ  I still love them to this day!  My daughters are teenagers now but our love for the classic and new Disney films is never-ending.  You should ask me what we did when the Beauty & the Beast live action movie was released…. We were hardcore!!!

COZY PLACES – Comfort, relaxation, peace.  Three words that everyone should make time for in their busy lives. So very important to reconnect with yourself….to recharge.  Pick up a book, watch a movie, listen to some music in your favorite nook.  You will walk away feeling more relaxed and will be a better person for it.

KNITTING – One past time I learned (by no means am I an expert!), while pregnant with my first child, was knitting. I wanted to give something to my daughter that would be her comfort as she grew up.  Something that she could look back on and think about her childhood.  Hopefully it will be a piece of her past she can pass on her to own child one day!

February Love

CURLING UP WITH A GOOD BOOKSince the weather outside is still not as favorable  - why not curl up with a good book?  Take your mind away from the every day and let your imagination take priority.  If you have a nook … all the better!  A good book that we have had the chance to read and would recommend to others in a heartbeat…  A Thousand Splendid Suns  Click the link an find out!

CRISP AIRYes, it’s still cold (boo). Yes, you still have to bundle up when you’re outside but taking in that crisp fresh air can do wonders for your immune system!  Calming you down, increasing your energy and improving your heart health are just a few benefits of this natural gift!  Make sure to get out there and take a deep breath!  Click this link to read more about the benefits of nature’s crisp fresh air.

PINTEREST – What can I say?  This is definitely my weakness!  So many beautiful images out there to “like’, recipes to try and fitness routines to pin to my board (that I never have time to try!)  It’s another way to let go of the every day and take a moment to myself.  Try it with caution…it can be addictive!

ROSE GOLD – I am absolutely smitten with this colour palette!  So classic, so chic!  I really hope it doesn’t go anywhere… I am enjoying it too much!  From office décor to jewelry.. we love it all.

BLOOMS – Oh how I love florals! They bring such happiness to my soul.  If someone were to bring me fresh flowers every day…. I would love you for life!!!   Meanwhile I will settle for every other day…. Just kidding! The image above is from our travels to Paris!  Oh how we loved it there!!

Remember to take a moment and enjoy the every day!

Happy February!

Cake Me Goodnight! ~ Charlotte's Favourite things ...

If you're trying to steer clear of being too traditional in your wedding ways, and want something different and modern, try adding an alternative idea to the "cake" part of the night!

After your delicious meal has been served and consumed by your hungry guests, everyone expects a cake to be served as dessert. Why not surprise your guests with something a little different?

Here are a few ideas to keep your originality flowing!

Cupcakes are turning into more of the popular idea to choose for dessert options, and can give your guests more of an option for flavour. Giving your guests selection always makes everyone happier and keeps the traditional wedding feel at bay.  From mini to large size, the possibilities are endless!

Cake pops are also another great idea to serve your guests to keep them interested and everything looking bright and fun!

Try cake trifles in glass jars for a beautiful modern take on your wedding cake. This elegant glass look helps keep the classy feel of a cake table with a contemporary twist!

Maybe try stepping out of the box even more with these awesome ideas!

Why not go a little "French" with some Macarons or Merengues - "mais oui?"

Or how about a little gourmet on the menu?

Like I said.. the possibilities are endless!!!

Keep Up The Happy Planning,
Charlotte

Candlelight Candle Bright! ~ Charlotte's Favourite Things...

I absolutely LOVE how a candle can make the ambiance of a room change within seconds without spending tonnes of money on elaborate decorations.

Try adding small subtle candles to your wedding venue and see how quickly the romance lights up (literally).

Try adding candles to your walk way to add a whimsical look to your entrance. It adds such a glow that will make your guests feel warm and fuzzy inside!

Putting a touch of tea light candles in the midst of your centre pieces can really liven up the space and not break the bank. Just one more thing to help with your perfect day!

Keep Up The Happy Planning!

..& She Wore Flowers In Her Hair".... Flower Girl Dresses for your Day!

So you've gotten your wedding gown and ordered your bridesmaids dresses, but there's a certain little someone (or maybe two) that need to be dressed for the special day too!

Flower girl dresses are not only adorable but can be a little hard to find! Since most modern bridal parties aren't including flower girls and ring bearers anymore, it's getting harder and harder to find the perfect attire for your "mini-me's".

Make sure you're giving yourself LOTS of time to plan ahead for buying or ordering these super cute gowns and don't just assume that because they are so small that they take any less time to make/ buy.
Also, keep in mind that if you are not looking for a traditional white flower girl dress, and going for a more modern champagne or coloured dress, then you need to give yourself even MORE time to look around as these are not as popular.
Look how adorable these little ones are! They sure do steal the show!

In order to keep the calm and collective wedding planning going (sarcasm may be in effect here hehe), it is never too early to start looking for dresses for your loving family and friends.

Even though you are the main attraction of the night, doesn't mean that you want your wedding party to look any less fabulous!

Until Next Time,
Charlotte

Afzia's Favorite Things! - Pi .. I mean Pie!

See what I did there?  Just a little humour for this Saturday morning:)

In honour of 3.14.15 or "National Pi Day" ... I thought I would share one of my favourite things...Pie!

For a little background on Pi...

"Pi Day is an annual celebration commemorating the mathematical constant π (pi). It is observed on March 14 since 3, 1, and 4 are the first three digits of π"

This year adds to the quirky nature of honouring the day.. 3.1415 are the first five digits... therefore 1 and 5 fall perfectly this year as it is 2015!  Cool huh!

Back to the good stuff ... Doing what I do as a wedding planner, I'm asked to come up with creative ideas to enhance an event.  One of the cool things I've come across (which is also so yummy and delicious) is a Pie bar!

Different images are probably running through your mind... let me show you the possibilities!

From slices to minis, pops to jars, gourmet to traditional, the inspiration is endless.  Include this delicious idea as part of your wedding celebrations and it is SURE to be a hit!

Everybody needs a little sweetness in their life right!

Enjoy!

You're Invited!

Wondering how to design your wedding invitations to fit your style?

Look no further, we have some great suggestions here that won't break your bank!

Lace seems to be so popular now and has always had a very timeless feel to it, so why not incorporate it into your invites? Look at how elegant these look and don't cost a fortune! This is a simple DIY that you and your girlfriends can do on a rainy Sunday (IF you can ever find the time)...

Another great idea is to take your engagement photos and choose one or two of your favourites to make into your invitations so that everyone can feel, and quite literally see, the love!

Have a little extra time on your hands? Maybe have a smaller guest list? Then try doing this intricate and interactive invitation you can make at home! Look how adorable it is when you open it up! Nothing says tying-the-knot, than quite literally tying a knot!

All of these simple and personal ideas are easy to do or to suggest to a friend who is getting married.

All you need is a little time, a few great friends (don't forget to tell them how great they are) and maybe a little wine in the mix for them to help you make your wedding invitation dreams come true!

Until Next Time,

Charlotte
