2013 Wedding Dress Trend....Bold Colour!

Something old... something new.... something borrowed.... something ....Red????

One of the new trends that has hit the runways for the Spring 2013 season.... is bold colour!!!!  Namely RED!!!!  You read right!  Shades of red running the gamut from scarlet to deep magenta graced the runways at Bridal Market.

We have been very busy here at Style & Elegance looking at all the new styles & creations unveiled by the top designers at New York's 2013 Bridal Fashion Week.  A common element that came through with designers was the focus on colour.

Traditionally associated with weddings in Asian cultures, red is making a bold statement here on the western fashion scene.

Whether you looking to take a fashion risk, want to go less traditional or you just can't resist the idea of a bright, bold colour... there are some great designs out there for Spring 2013 that you can choose from.

Have a look at some of Vera Wang's Collection of gowns the wowed the runway audiences at Bridal Fashion Week!

~ Enjoy! ~

NY Bridal Market - Badgley Mischka

Wow!  There were so many designs at New York Bridal Market this year that is was incredibly difficult to choose favourites from the different designers!

Profiled today are the beautiful creations of Mark Badgley & James Mischka.  Their sophisticated, simple style combined with gorgeous silohuettes & luxurious detail caters to the young modern bride.

Take a peek at my picks from Badgley Mischka's Spring 2012 Bridal Collection!

They are absolutely gorgeous! (I've saved the best for last!)

NY Bridal Market - Ines Di Santo

There were so many gorgeous designs that walked the runways in New York over the weekend it was hard to pick an absolute favourite.

Instead I have chosen a few of each of the designers that really caught my eye.

In particular designer Ines Di Santo's sophisticated and luxurious creations stood out.

NY Bridal Market - Kenneth Pool

~  Sexy.  Couture.  Glamorous  ~

All words to describe the Kenneth Pool 2012 Bridal Collection that graced the runway this past weekend!

There was a mix of traditional ballgowns & mermaid silohuettes combined with intricate beading & feminine ruffles.  All while still achieving the signature sexy, glamorous, couture style Kenneth Pool is known for.

Take a peak at some of my faves from this collection!

NY Bridal Market - Reem Acra

I had the chance to watch the designs of Reem Acra stroll the runway streaming live courtesy of The Knot!  Wish I could have been there myself!

Romance, ruffles & embellishments was the theme of the collection labelled

"You can be a Princess too".

This designer's love for luxurious fabrics, unique textures and handmade elements shines through in her creations.  She aims to combine her appreciation of the traditional & classic with modern fashion.

Bringing glamour & sophistication to your special moments, Reem Acra's European style allows you to be that "princess" on one of the happiest days of your life.  Here are some of the designs that debuted at Bridal Market!
