Just Because....Day 150

We took a break yesterday for some family celebrations and now we are back!

How cute would this be?  Your flower girls coming down the aisle with little black dresses and "Audrey capes"!  Perfect for that wedding centred around the stylings of one Ms. Audrey Hepburn!

Classic and elegant ....right down to the walk down the aisle!

For those of you ambitious enough .... you can make these yourself!  Visit this link and see how easy it is!

Textured Cakes take the spotlight!

Decadent creations that please the palette are definitely my cup of tea!

One of the more important elements of a wedding reception that involves some creativity and planning is the beautiful Wedding Cake!

In general, wedding cakes have come a LONG way from the simple rectangular slab served after dinner.  There is SO much you can do when creating the cake of your dreams.  You can pretty much order any shape, size and colour that your little sweet tooth desires.

Gone are the days of plain, smooth frosting.  Eye-catching textures and dimension are taking this art form to a new level.

Check out these AH-mazing creations that definitely "take the cake"!

Which one would you like to satisfy your craving?  Let us know!

~ Happy Planning! ~

This one is so unique!!!!

~Theme Thursdays~ There's an App for that!

Want to have something completely different??  Something fun!

Here's an alternative to the five-course sit down dinner - Why not host a reception themed entirely around appetizers and hors d’oeuvres!

While keeping your guests constantly engaged, they will have the option to move around and socialize more. These finger foods will keep guests satisfied all night with the endless options.

It could include appies that reflect the couples heritage or just their favourites.  Such as Greek spanikopitas or mini sliders.  Setup in stations, a diverse menu could be like your guest is travelling around the world sampling a variety of flavours!  Adding high top bistro tables throughout the reception space makes for easy movement for all your guests as well as a place to converse!  All in all a very fun and relaxing atmosphere!

Doesn't this look just yummy!

Another idea would be to incorporate your theme into the details of your day!

Why not have a lounge type feel to your celebrations?  We personally LOVE this style!

Clean lines, solid colours and the right kind of lighting can lead to a different kind of sophistication.

Check out some of these ideas!

Well we have finally reached the inspiration that REALLY peaks my interest.

My favourite part of the wedding reception - The Wedding Cake!  Oh how I love this part!  ♥ ♥ ♥

These pieces of art a reflection of the bride & groom's style and taste.  Designs can range anywhere from the simplistic statement piece to the grandiose masterpieces that are favourites of the rich and famous.

We haven't even begun to talk about what's inside these creations!

Which one is your favourite???

The Royal Wedding - A New Age of Royals

It's been a busy couple weeks!  The anticipation of those Royal Wedding photos had everyone in the wedding industry on the edge of their seats!  Myself included!

What an absolutely fabulous day!  The perfect end to the fairytale. Well, really it's the beginning isn't it! Prince William and Kate Middleton, known from now on as the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge, were a picture of poise and, well,...Royalty!

Prince William and Catherine Middleton exchanged vows on Friday April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London England, with billions watching.  Myself included!  Up in the wee hours of the morning with my daughter, we watched a prince & princess begin their lives together.  I hope that she will remember this moment with me as she grows up.

We have all watched Prince William grow up right in front of our eyes.  All of us can see the kind of man that he has become and we can also see how much he is like his mother.  I became emotional as the car taking Prince William and his brother Prince Harry was heading to the Abbey.  All I could think of was how much Diana is being missed on this special day.  She would have been so proud.

Enduring their own ups and downs throughout their relationship, William and Kate knew they were perfect for each other....they fell in love.  What could be more romantic?

Here are some images from the day that will inspire many modern couples in planning their wedding day.   Stay tuned for blogs on the "details" from the wedding of the century!

In the words of a timeless princess ...

.... "so this is love..."

~  Happy Planning! and remember.... Fairytales do come true. ~

Wedding Gown Designer - Ines Di Santo

It's Style Friday once again and I'm loving the research I have to do for this weekly post.

I get to look at wedding dresses!  I love it!

In the limelight this week is Italian Couture Wedding gown designer Ines Di Santo.

Creating designs to catch the eye of the fashionista bride, Di Santo personally  overseas the production of every gown to ensure the highest standard of quality.  From sentimental romance to luxury couture, this designer's instinct on the bridal silhouette leads to her unrivaled creativity.

Take a look at some gowns that caught my eye.

Happy Planning!
