Real Wedding ♥ Trudy & Matt {October 2013}

When we met Trudy & Matt, instantly we knew that working with them would be a fun experience!  "Clicking" with clients is such an awesome feeling.

Right from the start we were so impressed with how organized the bride was!  So awesome!  My job as Wedding Day Coordinator became just a bit easier :)  Aside from a few details.. we were pretty much on track for a wonderful celebration.

Come the day of the wedding... Trudy looked ah-mazing! ♥ Her gown... stunning!  Fit her like a glove!  Matt .... you looked handsome too ;)

Set at the beautiful Pines event space in Cambridge Ontario... Trudy & Matt tied the knot!

A fun-filled reception followed with group singing and impromptu poetry!  Loved it!

Take a look at the images taken by the talented photographers at Spirits Intrigued Photography.

Enjoy!

Textured Cakes take the spotlight!

Decadent creations that please the palette are definitely my cup of tea!

One of the more important elements of a wedding reception that involves some creativity and planning is the beautiful Wedding Cake!

In general, wedding cakes have come a LONG way from the simple rectangular slab served after dinner.  There is SO much you can do when creating the cake of your dreams.  You can pretty much order any shape, size and colour that your little sweet tooth desires.

Gone are the days of plain, smooth frosting.  Eye-catching textures and dimension are taking this art form to a new level.

Check out these AH-mazing creations that definitely "take the cake"!

Which one would you like to satisfy your craving?  Let us know!

Inspiration Fridays~ It’s a Paris Wedding!

Kitchener Wedding Planner PlanningParis is known to be the most romantic city in the world... so it only makes sense that couples want to capture the ambience and joyous feeling of love or ‘amour’ as the French would say.

Quaint little bistros & patisseries, cobblestone streets, the clinking of glasses and of course the most obvious icon of Paris, the Eiffel Tower, all add to the enormous amount of inspiration that can be drawn from this part of the world!  (We one day dream of going to the "City of Lights"...  *sigh*)

Other inspiring elements for a "Parisian" wedding would include things like....

....The fleur-de-lis, which is the flower lily motif, a royal and regal design dating back centuries

....Damask designs to add a more "baroque" feel to your wedding celebrations

The overall vibe you want to create is of elegance, refined artistry and reverence and we hope these inspiration boards are ‘le coup de foudre’ (Love at first sight!!)

This next one almost has a "black tie" feel to it!  Still has the Parisian vibe but with a little more umph!

Style Wednesdays – Vintage Rings

You know how the saying goes: “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.”

A vintage engagement ring can cover all of the above acting as the ultimate four -in-one good-luck token for the bride to ensure a happy marriage.

Antique or vintage equates to old and perhaps you will be lucky enough to be given a beautiful family heirloom that has been kept in the family for generations. (Preferably with the mother’s blessings!)

It can be new but designed in the vintage style and it is definitely new to you when he pops the question and presents it! As a family heirloom it is essentially borrowed until you have to pass it on and last but not least something blue comes in gorgeous sapphire.

Genuine vintage diamond rings are rare, difficult to find and come in a combination of precious diamonds, stones, metals, age, period, and features.   As advised by Randor Jewellery Inc there are four main vintage diamond ring eras to consider:

  1. Victorian Era rings - in which the style was dictated by the queens, tend to have a serious design comprising of darker stones.
  2. Edwardian Era Vintage rings - tended to be more light and flexible in style. Platinum became a popular metal and diamonds and pearls were the most widely used gemstones.
  3. Art Nouveau Vintage rings - tended to have styles based on flowers with very geometric shapes
  4. Retro Vintage Era rings - tend to have less emphasis on the actual gemstone. Larger less precious gems were used in conjunction with more precious metals. This is largely considered the era where yellow gold became popular and widely used.

So for an alternative and unique ring, take a look at some of the ones we came across on Pinterest. Take a browse and find that special one for you. Happy shopping!

Love Love Love the details on this one below, that’s what I call old fashion bling!  Gorgeousness!!!!

These ones below are simply beautiful and elegant with floral clasps holding the stone giving it that delicate and pretty feel.  This is my favorite, I am speechless!

And finally for the something blue is the sapphire collection we found on ERAGEM. Here are some that caught our eye:

Romantic Lace for your Wedding

Thanks to the Royal Wedding and Kate's beautiful choice for her bridal look, 2012 is all about sheers, lace, sleeves, illusion necklines, and lots of layering and detail.

We can see clearly that lace has caught on as a favourable trend in wedding gown design!  We personally LOVE lace and are just swooning over the designs that are out there!

For those wanting to achieve a romantic bridal look, you can choose to incorporate a subtle touch of lace, for example in a veil or go to the other extreme and have a full, top to bottom lace creation.

Here is a sampling of the "swoon-worthy" designs that will catch your attention!

We just LOVE it!

The Vintage Tannery Wedding - Heidi & Chris get married!

~ May 14, 2011 ~

At the quaint & rustic Grist Mill in Waterloo Park, Heidi & Chris began their beautiful wedding celebration, surrounded by their family and a few friends.  It didn't matter that the rain was pretty much non-stop throughout the day.......... it didn't put a damper on a single thing!

They were an absolutely fabulous couple to work with!  Heidi's unique, vintage taste made the day so much more memorable!  Talking with Chris during the planning process it was obvious to see, that he couldn't wait to marry this girl!

I had the pleasure of working with Taylor Jackson Photography as well as Brian Wiebe Photography!  Talent, talent, talent!!!

Great music, great food, delicious dessert... what more could you ask for!!

Stay tuned for images from the pros!
