There is something about a "black tie" event.... so formal, with a crisp, clean colour palette. Adding to the classic black look, is what you wear to the event!

How about this pair?
We are in love with the back of this dress!!!!!!!!!!!
These next two dresses...... Jaw-dropping!!!!
So many choices!!!! How does a lady choose???!!!
It's even harder if you add a pop of colour to the mix! We are fans of the black and white wedding style but the extra pop of colour just takes the whole vision one notch further!
What do you think?
Hope you enjoyed today's lovely eye candy!
Are black and white the colours for you?
Decadent creations that please the palette are definitely my cup of tea!
One of the more important elements of a wedding reception that involves some creativity and planning is the beautiful Wedding Cake!
In general, wedding cakes have come a LONG way from the simple rectangular slab served after dinner. There is SO much you can do when creating the cake of your dreams. You can pretty much order any shape, size and colour that your little sweet tooth desires.
Gone are the days of plain, smooth frosting. Eye-catching textures and dimension are taking this art form to a new level.
Check out these AH-mazing creations that definitely "take the cake"!
Which one would you like to satisfy your craving? Let us know!

We are back after taking a break and spending time with family.... Lots of fun was had!
But now it's time to get back to our other passion.... anything + everything Wedding!!!!
Today's Inspiration is just simply lovely..... romantic.... and filled with *gorgeousness* ! The warm coral and ivory colour palette just makes us want to literally "step into" a wedding like this!
We hope you enjoy our inspiration piece.... Maybe it will make for a "sweet + lovely" beginning for one of you luck brides out there!
More and more brides are straying away from tradition and opting to wear two dresses on their wedding day. Who says you have to stick to just one??? Have the wedding gown style for the ceremony & cocktail hour and then switch to a more upbeat number for the reception. Something to have a little more fun and party it up!
There are a few ways this can be achieved. You can have the two different looks you desire by using "layers" such as jackets or cover ups for the earlier part of the day and then shedding that to have a more flirty and fun look for the evening celebrations. Here are some ideas!
Here is another take on layers! A lot of designers are offering brides the option to transform their look by transforming the gown itself. This sounds fun! Creating a gown where the skirt can be easily detached to reveal a fun cocktail style party dress is sure to wow your guests and not to mention your new husband!!!
Another subtle and simple way to change up your look is to play with the sash on your dress. Have a more understated, elegant colour for your ceremony and change it up to a playful and bold choice for your party!
And now for some COLOUR!!!! Time to kick the party into gear!
What you should remember when choosing your second dress is that it shouldn't break the bank. It doesn't have to be expensive and the more different it is from your normal wedding gown, the more fun you'll have!
Will you say "Yes" to the second dress???? Let us know!

We immediately were head over heels and swooning over this * beautiful * photo shoot done by Jessica Zais Photography! One of our most treasured + loved films has been captured in a romantic bridal shoot and we are JUST LOVING IT!
Anne of Green Gables has been one our favourite Canadian series since as long as we can remember. The innocence of childhood and young love, finding out who you are and learning some very tough life lessons all through the eyes of a very young Anne Shirley. Played by Canadian actress Megan Follows, this story has captured many a young heart and continues to be a inspiration!
This photoshoot was able to recreate scenes from the classic story that literally leap from the pages of the novel! For those fans out there you will know what we mean when we mention.... The Lake of Shining Waters, White Way of Delight or the ever sweet term "Carrots"!
Take in some of these BEAUTIFUL images courtesy of Jessica Zais Photography and re-live the romantic love story of Gilbert + Anne (with an 'e').
For the complete blog post visit Jessica Zais Photography
Here are the very talented West Coast vendors who pulled off this GORGEOUS shoot!
We absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these! Fun, beautiful and surprisingly inexpensive, paper lanterns have become one of the hot wedding decor trends for 2013!
What's great about them is that they can easily draw the eye to be the focal point of the event space. Especially if you have a not-so-appealling looking ceiling that you need to cover.... This is the perfect, "inexpensive" solution to your troubles!
From the small intimate gathering to the large wedding reception, Paper Lanterns are all the rage!
Perfect for a bridal shower or an engagement party!
Love how the lanterns become a grand focal point when you enter the space! Mission accomplished!
Do away with the traditional pew bows and hang these fun lanterns as aisle markers.
Why not light the way for your guests by placing these decorative luminaries along the path leading to your reception! Available in many different colours, shapes and sizes, you can have fun with this part of your planning and at added touch will be remembered by all.
This one is our favourite!!! Which one is yours?? Let us know in the comments below!

Why not try something different?
How do Dessert-Style Receptions sound!!!???
Now this is something we could get on board with!
There are some benefits to approaching your reception planning in this manner. Let's talk about a few and along the way... enjoy some dessert inspiration!
1. By skipping to the * BEST * part of the reception, you can actually expand your options to a long list of sweet confections! Also you can cover a lot more variety with regards to the flavor pallettes that walk through the door at your reception!
2. A common occurence at wedding receptions is that guests tend to get "stuffed" from their 3 course dinner and have no room for the good stuff! This alternative to the sit down formal meal will allow them to partake of many different varieties of desserts but without the large portion size.
3. A third benefit of going "Dessert-only" is that since you are not paying the high cost of feeding your wedding guests a full meal, you can focus your budget on splurging on delicious sweets or even other aspects of your wedding planning.
After all those scrumptious sweets are chosen, you don't have to resort to just displaying them on a simple table. You can get creative here too!
Add some texture & depth with high and low display stands, different styles of glass containers, plates and fun themed takeaway bags. You could also play off the colours you are using for the wedding.
The list is endless regarding "what" you could include for sweets. Truffles, doughnuts, macroons, tarts, cheesecakes, shortbreads, fudge, candies.. and the options go on and on.
An array of artfully displayed bite sized confections will be sure to please each and every one of your weddings guests! Go ahead and be inspired!
My sweet tooth is calling after all that eye candy!
