Theme Thursdays ~ Fun Bachelorette Party Ideas!

Now just the mention of bachelorette parties get the mind spinning!  Don't worry!  We will be keeping everything G-rated today!

It’s time for the maid of honour to gather the bride’s girlfriends and celebrate her last night of freedom. Let her do her thing before she puts on the ring!  Main Objective - Cater to her needs and distract her from all the wedding stress with some fun or relaxation or both!

Night out on the Town

Typically, a drunken night bar crawling dressed in sashes and tiaras, a male entertainment and getting in trouble with the police fits the bill for a wild bachelorette party. If thats what the bride wants then go for it!  What isn’t fun about getting dolled up and hitting the town with your girls drinking, dancing and even singing!

DIY Project Idea - Scrabble Coasters!

We absolutely LOVE this idea!

Here is another project for the ambitious DIYer.  Whether you use it as part of your bridal party gifts or as your favours for each of your guests (allot enough time do all of them), this DIY project will definitely catch their attention!

Quite simple to make, all you need is the following to these Scrabble Coasters:

Scrabble Tiles ~ Cork or Old Game Board for backing ~ Sealant

Scissors ~ Raffia or Ribbon ~ Patience!

First you need to decide how large you want to make the tile.  A size that we would recommend would be 3.0 x 3.5 inches.   A second consideration would be decided if you want all 4 rows containing words or have one row that is a word that relates to your wedding.  For example the simple word - LOVE.

For the backing you have a couple of options.  You can use a thicker sized cork or you can use an old game board.  All put together with a good sealant (ie: super glue) you have a wonderful little gift!

DIY Wedding Idea

Here’s another one for the DIY files ladies!

How cute are these??!!  Perfect for a whimsical summer reception.

This could be the perfect opportunity for you and your bridesmaid to have a girls night and check another item off your list while having some fun!

Here’s how you can have this little sweet little detail a part of your wedding celebrations!

DIY Wedding Project

{Photo courtesy of Papermash}

You will need the following:

Mini Doilies (template via Papermash) Cardstock paper ~ Pencil ~ Scissors

Wooden Skewers ~ Glue Stick ~ Hot Glue & Glue Gun

Accents for tops (your choice)

Step 1 – Cut out a small circle template and trace onto the cardstock paper.  You will need one for each parasol.  Cut out each and mark the centre.

Step 2 – Use the glue stick to glue one circle onto the centre of each doily and let it dry.  This will help to reinforce the paper and make the parasol sturdier.

Step 3 – Cut from the edge of the doily to its centre and bend into a cone shape.  Seal with glue.

Step 4 – Glue a button, bead or any embellishment you’ve chose to the top of the parasol and let it dry.  (You can get really creative here!  Stars, crystals, stones…the sky is the limit!)

Step 5 – Use the hot glue gun to attach the wooden skewer to the inside of the parasol.

Now you have a super cute DIY element to your cocktail hour!  Your guests will love it!
